It's just after 6am and I have been awake since half four, despite the fact that my eyes are itching with tiredness.
Had a night of truly bizarre dreams, inlcuding one of me going for IVF (!!!) and then being bunged into hospital because the Dr said I looked too tired and dehydrated to be allowed to go home. What do you reckon it says when you *dream* about being tired??
I am sick with the lurgy...the eye streaming, ear itching, perpetual tickle at the back of the throat, unexpected snot fountain, nose rubbed with sandpaper feeling, kind of lurgy.
Our very kind neighbour who's been taking Chickabid to school for us on Mondays and Tuesdays can't take him today and we have no-one else who can do it. I'm going to have to knock back work today because I can't get Chickabid to school...unless of course the local school rings, but I wouldn't be holding my breath.
Am not really well enough to be going to school anyway.
Am hanging out for Friday when Mum and Dad move to their new place. Will probably spend a fair whack of Friday and Saturday morning over there helping them unpack. Birdie, I haven't forgotten about Saturday...it's still on.
Mister Bear's appointment with the Very Important Doctor is this afternoon and just between you and me I am a wee bit panicked over having to drive there. It's right in the middle of the city (Darlinghurst), it's raining and by the time we get there it'll be dark. I don't know how wheelchair accessible it is either, so that could present a whole new bunch of problems.
Sigh.
But to end on a cheerful note, yesterday I had Kinder at the Very Good School. The photocopier was broken and I couldn't copy any work, but after 3 years at another place I am totally accustomed to teaching out of thin air. Decided to have a cut and paste activity where the kindies were to find words beginning with D and pictures of things beginning with D in magazines and we'd make a poster for the classroom. When they found a picture of something and pasted it on, I'd write the word next to it. All well and good? Finished the poster, hung it up in the classroom and then suddenly realised that I had a picture of a doona right next to a picture of dancing. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, in the kindy room we have "doona dancing".
For any non Aussie readers, that's a euphemism for ummm, well, you know...:$
