Well, the little man is a fully fledged school boy now. Yesterday when I walked him to school, he decided that he needed to use the toilet. Just as he was coming out of the toilet block the bell rang. "Oooh, that's the bell. I gotta go now Mummy!" says he, grabs his bag and heads for his room. I couldn't believe it, he was so confident. In his room he hung his bag and his hat on the hook, greeted his teacher and was ready for whatever the day might bring. I got a quick kiss, Ladybaby got a bigger kiss and an embrace and then it was time to go.
He is so, so ready for this new step.
Then last night at the dinner table, Ian and I were discussing something when we realised Mike had his hand up. This might be a paraphrase, but you'll get the gist:
Mike: Excuse me, when you put your hand up it means you want to say something and you put your hand up and then you wait until the person what is speaking says your name and then you can talk and I'd like to talk now please
Ian and I got the giggles big time cos he was so carefully explaining how this process works as though *we'd* have no idea what it meant...both being teachers this kind of thing is our bread and butter, but it was so funny hearing it out of Mike's mouth.
How quickly they learn.
