Between February of 2003 and mid-2004 we went through one of those seasons. You know the ones where everythong goes wrong. It's probably recorded in far more detail somewhere on the blog but I can't find it, but as far as I can remember this was what went wrong:
- the computer on the washing machine packed it in about 3 days before Ladybug was born and had to be replaced
- the car had to be replaced
- the hot water service blew up and had to be replaced
- the dryer died and had to be replaced
- the toaster carked it
- so did the kettle, and my memory fails me on all the other things that went wrong, but I do remember that there were more things that broke in that period. It was pretty bad.
fast forward to the middle of April this year and the dryer that I nursed all through last winter packed it in. No worries...trip to hardly normal and we had a new, efficient dryer. All good. Tried to use the washing machine yesteday and it won't do its thing. It's broken. The man is coming tomorrow morning to look at it, but at 11 years old, it's not looking good.
It's starting to feel a bit familiar in a really scary kind of way.
I hope the trail of destruction stops here.
